SPOTS
All AirX Kite classes start on the 17th of
March to the 1st of December, are given between the
border of Italy (Menton) to Frejus, but the main location
remain La Baie de Cannes - Mandelieu (30 kilometers
west of Nice).
OFFER
Each class meets and starts at 10 in the morning
at the Nautical Center in Mandelieu (next to
Cannes). All classes are conducted with very safety
conscious planning to maximize the learning while minimizing
all risk for injury.
3 Day Basic Initiation Class (Monday to Wednesday
and Thursday to Saturday)
Pass "Découverte"
Day One: The first day starts with one hour of in class
basic discussion of the wind, positioning the kite in
the wind and equipment. The rest of the day is spent
at a kitesurfing location for a first hands on experience
with a large land kite which identically simulates the
kite for kitesurfing. You will learn to manage the air
space and the wind power.
Day Two: The second day starts in the water, usually
off shore from the boat where the student will learn
to: launch the kite from the water, bodydragging in
the water, basic safety measures to be adopted, water
starts and for the most at ease a first experience on
a directional board.
Day Three: First experience with the directional board
going in both directions and working the kite in a figure
8 movement. Controlling and manipulating the kite to
obtain maximum control of direction and speed.
5 days for General Autonomy (Monday to Saturday)
Pass "Perfectionnement"
Developing a finer control of the kite to generate
a continual power and pull. Begin work on controlling
the forward direction. Learning to position body weight
and pressure points on the board for directional control.
Techniques for moving upwind will be taught to those most at ease with the basics.
Together, we will determine the objectives to be reached
for the class. The class is then programmed according
to the specific needs of the student.
