WINGFOIL COURSE OVERVIEW

Our school is open from March to October. All equipment and gear are provided.
For any questions or to book a session, feel free to message us directly on WhatsApp or call us at +33 6 60 41 87 34.

For this first Wingfoil learning session, we'll head out on the water for a towed foil session in Cannes–Mandelieu Marina or in Saint-Raphael Marina (according to your booking choice). Being pulled behind the boat is a perfect first step to help you manage your balance on a foil board.

You'll experience your first glides — starting on your knees, then standing up.

The goal is to get you comfortable with the foil board. Thanks to the boat’s steady pull, you can fully focus on learning how to position your feet, fall safely, and — for the most confident — enjoy your first lifts above the water.

All equipment, including wetsuits, is provided by our school.

Morning session: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

This second session begins with an introduction to the wingfoil sail on the boat, followed by a water session on a board with a daggerboard to learn how to handle the wing.

First glides on your knees with the wing, then quickly standing up, focusing on balance control on the board and managing the power of the wing.

You’ll learn how to position yourself with respect to the wind, steer, and change direction using the wing (including understanding the different points of sail).

Session time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (adjustable depending on your availability and wind conditions)

In this third session, you’ll be on the water for the first time with both the wing and the foil board.

You’ll make your first runs, working on balance and stance on the gliding board.

You’ll learn how to generate propulsion with the wing to experience your first glides on the foil board — and for the most advanced, your first short flights.

Session time: Morning or afternoon, depending on your availability and wind conditions.

In this fourth session, you'll improve your flights on your strong foot.

The goal is to be able to ride longer distances on both sides without falling.

Session time: Morning or afternoon, depending on your availability and wind conditions.

In this fifth session of the Wingfoil initiation course, the goal is to ride comfortably on both tacks in crosswind conditions, even on choppy water.

By the end of these five sessions, depending on your personal progress, you may be ready to transition to independent riding with your own equipment, or continue with assisted open-water sessions using rental gear and boat support.

Session time: Morning or afternoon, depending on your availability and wind conditions.

A few explanations about the online license process:
You can pay for your license directly on the FFVL website.

https://federation.ffvl.fr/

After payment, I just need to validate it on my end.
To begin, click on “C’est ma première licence” (It's my first license) — unless you already had one last year.
Then, for temporary licenses, enter the name of the school: AIR X KITE under number 01937.
For annual licenses, use the club name: MANDELIEU KITE CLUB, number 01010, if you plan to continue outside the school.

Then fill in your personal details (title, name, address).
For license options, choose:
– Federal membership + civil liability insurance (required)
– Civil liability only: "RC élève année kite" (covers you during lessons)

No need to subscribe to “Vol Passion” (the FFVL magazine) or the individual accident coverage unless you wish to — these are optional.
You can always upgrade your license later depending on your progress, or directly take the full-year “pratiquant” license if you're planning to ride independently.

There are 4 types of licenses:

Temporary license (€5): valid for 2 consecutive days only.
